THE SILVER DIAL
The silver dial is laser-engraved with Ag925, and features our favourite beagle as an embossed silver medallion on the blue subdial at 9 o’clock. He is shown wearing his famous spacesuit, in the exact style of the famous Silver Snoopy Award pin.
DOT OVER NINETY
The blue ceramic bezel ring includes a white enamel tachymeter scale and the celebrated dot-over-ninety detail associated with historic Speedmaster watches.
SPECIAL TRIBUTES
The NAIAD LOCK caseback presents the far side of the moon, Earth and an animated Snoopy, with tributes to Apollo 13 and the Silver Snoopy Award.
TRAJECTORY STRAP
The blue nylon fabric strap is finished with a grained calf leather underside embossed with the trajectory of the Apollo 13 mission.
SNOOP IN ORBIT
On the caseback, Snoopy appears on the Service Module (CSM) as a magic hand. When the chronograph is activated, it travels towards the Moon, decorated on the sapphire crystal. An Earth disc also rotates once per minute, synchronized with the small seconds hand.
The Legacy of the Comic Strip
For more than half a century, Snoopy has been the “watchdog” of NASA’s safety program. In addition to representing mission success, he has also been able to keep the atmosphere light in more serious situations. Since 1968, the Silver Snoopy Award has been given to individuals or companies who have made significant contributions to the “success of human space missions.”
